The small stuff
I miss…
…Paved roads
…sidewalks
…grass & plants
…street lights
…traffic signals
…getting in to a freezing car & waiting for the heater to kick in
…2nd story views
…porches
…people watching
…Sunlight through leaves – dappled light through spring breezes
…video stores, lines and all
…waiting for the check at a restaurant
…forgetting where I parked
…walking through a mall again, just because
…the ladies – hair in the eyes, big sunglasses, makeup, quick glances, a smirk, a laugh
…coffee shop talk – pretentious books and haughty politics
…posters
…color
…movie theaters – the feeling of escape
…food – Indian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese
…Quiznos toasted subs
…arguing over where to eat lunch
…looking for an ATM
…traffic
…wondering if I can make it to the next exit before getting gas
…Pop tart breakfasts / lunches / dinners (bachelor life)
…skipping a shave
…my longer hair
…going out – yes, AGAIN, to that spot

I miss…
Josh Salmons & Pirate dancing w/ pants splitting.
*sad face*
Well said. I could add to that list indefinately. Some of my big “misses” are seeing kids play outside (without begging me for my weapon, glasses, etc.,) pouring myself a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats in the morning instead of standing in line at the DFAC, calling someone on a cell phone when I need to get a hold of them, and taking a shower without wading through mud in shower shoes.
😦
I miss… weekends.
Okay – 1) I’m going to have to see this longer hair.
2) “…wondering if I can make it to the next exit before getting gas” — I thought you said passing gas. Eek!
Heh heh, I’ll have to get my folks to send along some pictures of me back in the day.
And, yeah, waiting to pass gas is a sometimes required something as well 😉
